How to Exterminate Muslims in India?

    Muslims ruled over Spain from 712 AD to 1492 AD for 780 years, yet today there are no Muslims in Spain though every aspect of Spanish life has a touch of Islam. Spanish language has many Arabic words, its music has an Arabic tone, its culture has more Arabic influence than the European, and proper nouns in Spanish often have the Arabic prefix al. From 1492, when the last bastion of Muslim political strength Grenada fell, the Muslims of Spain were on the decline and its culmination took place after 120 years when the last batch of Muslim die-hards left Spain in 1612. From that year, Islam vanished from the Spanish horizons.

    A particular noteworthy point is that during this period of Islamic decline from Spain, the entire civilised world was ruled by Muslims. The Ottoman Turks had conquered Constantinople in 1553, and were ruling the entire Balkan Peninsula, Egypt was ruled by the powerful Mamiukes, Persia was at its political pinnacle under the Abbasi rulers, and India was ruled by the Moghals. Still Islam vanished from Spain and none of these great Muslim armies did anything to protect the Muslims of Spain. How Islam was ejected from Spain had been a subject of keen study by lndia's Hindu Nazis in the 30s and 40s of this century. They studied this aspect to be copied in India and to counter this possibility, the Muslim leaders also studied this to prevent a repetition of the Spanish methods because Muslims (forming 11.35% of the population as per 1981 census) as lndia's single largest minorities have become the biggest headache to the upper caste Hindus. But the present-day Muslims are totally ignorant of the history of Islamic decline in Spain and hence of the designs surrounding it.



    Through this we intend to shed a little light on this subject so that the thinking section of the Muslims and their sympathisers may do some more research on this subject. As in India, Spanish Muslims had three categories: (i) the descendants of the original Arabs, (ii) descendants of Arab fathers and Spanish mothers and (iii) Christian converts to Islam. Immediately after the fall of Grenada many of the original Arabs to save their lives (not property, as they were not permitted to carry their wealth) left Spain to Tunisia and Morocco; many died on their journey by the attacking Christian hordes. Rest of the original Arabs who opted to live in Spain itself were subsequently branded 'foreigners" (as in India) and destroyers of Spain. The other category of Muslims viz. the descendants of Muslim fathers and Christian mothers and converts from Christianity opted to live in Spain believing in the declaration of King Ferdinand that complete religious freedom would be guaranteed. (in India also, we are told that Muslims enjoy full religious freedom and minority rights). The attacks by Christian on their lives and property during the earlier years was pardoned as a temporary phenomenon.

    Compare it with the development that took place in India after the partition (1947). But these attacks on Muslim life and property in Spain did not abate but continued for about 50 years with lesser intensity in a sporadic manner, just as it is happening in India today. In the earlier years, the Indian Muslims resisted and fought back. There were mini-battles in the streets, but gradually there were one-sided attacks and every time Muslims were the losers. Of late, the Hindu police itself is let lose to kill the Muslims in India.

    While the organized Christian groups were committing such massacres, Ferdinand's Govt, in Spain adopted the policy of eliminating Muslims from the services and adopting the following measures:-

    Arabic was removed from administration, schools attached to mosques were debarred from teaching academic and secular subjects like science, history, mathematics and philosophy. Only religious teaching could be imparted,
    Lessons in history were faked by which the Muslim rule was dubbed as barbaric. Contribution of Muslims to the development of Spain was avoided,
    Muslim houses were made objects of constant searching by police on allegations of arms hoarding and secret meetings, Original Arab Muslims were projected as enemies of Christians and destroyers of Spain.


    Christian converts were persuaded to reconvert to Christianity on the ground that their ancestors were forced to become Muslims and as there is no more coercion, they should revert to Christianity.


    Muslims who were from Muslim-Christian parentage were branded as bastards and ridiculed and persuaded to revert to Christianity. Marriages performed in the Islamic manner were directed to be registered with the judicial officers. Islamic law was declared illegal. Every method followed in Spain is being experimented in India with better precision and timing.


    Thus Muslims in Spain were made objects of ridicule, condemnation and continuous attack. Burning of Muslim houses and shops was encouraged to destroy their economy. Mock ceremonies of reconversion of Muslims to Christianity were held and publicized. In India, Hindu Nazis of all hues-Arya Samaj, Ramakrishna Mission, Vishwa Hindu Parishad etc,. are doing the same. The first two generation of Spanish Muslims adopted passive methods to save their religion by teaching Arabic to their children at home and mosques, and telling them orally about the realities but gradually they lost the zeal. When marriages were ordered to be celebrated only through Govt. agencies, Muslims in early stages performed dual marriages - one with the Govt. authorities and again privately in their homes in the Islamic manner. Gradually the second ceremony was given up as even such a private ceremony was banned.

    During this period, Muslim masses gradually fell out of the grips of the Muslim leadership and Muslim elites started flocking to Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt where they were received with sympathy. Poor Muslim masses were left uncared for. This is exactly what is happening in India. The richer, English-educated Muslims are getting Brahminised. They have become imitators of upper caste Hindus as they live not in Muslim localities but in Hindu areas. The poor Muslims (they form 95% of the Muslim population) live in ghettos and being better followers of Islam, they are left high and dry. Hence they are getting killed in all anti-Muslim riots.

    The seeds sown in the first half of the century in Spain started yielding results in the second half. There was no political leadership, no organization to protect Muslims and enlightened personalities to save the situation. Religious leaders knowing nothing but Islamic' theology tried their best to save the situation, but against heavy propaganda by the Govt. agencies, lures and offers to reconverts, ignorance of Islamic values by the masses and sense of inferiority nurtured in the minds of Muslim masses were too big a force to be undone by the theologians. This needed a political leadership and an organization with arms to counter, but there was none. Those who spoke of invoking the help of Muslim powers of Turkey and Egypt were feared and exposed before the authorities (by the Muslims themselves) to be condemned. Without willing fighters, other Muslim powers could not help. Those who had settled in Turkey and Egypt advised the authorities there to desist' from such a thought as otherwise atrocities on Muslims of Spain would increase. An Ahmed Shah Abdaii was needed but th@'@ was none. And the Muslim masses joined the "mainstream" of Spanish life and the mullahs finding no job for their preaching gradually left Spain. And the last batch to leave Spain consisted of the diehard mullahs in 1612

    In India also the political leadership of the Muslims became a tail of the Hindu parties led by the upper castes. Only the theological leadership like that of Moulana Hasan Ali Nadvi has tried to maintain the cultural identity of the Indian Muslims.

    This "Spanish experiment" is being tried with greater energy and efficiency in India. Urdu, which is as Islamic in India as Arabic was in Spain, is being eased out. Muslims are voluntarily holding on to madrasas. English-educated richer Muslims are away from the Muslim masses. We saw this at the Tablighe Jamat International conference held in Bangalore (DV, March 15, 1985). They are not going to Muslim countries, but are taking refuge in their psychological and physical seclusion. Any move to organise them to protect the Muslim life and property is branded as communal. Any Muslim flirting, if not supporting the upper castes, is called a "nationalist Muslim". The gulf between the Muslim masses and educated rich Muslims is widening every day. Mass killing of Muslims is considered something natural by the Muslim leadership itself. Whenever it is raised at international Islamic platforms such actions are called interference in the internal affairs of India. Muslims history is deleted from the syllabus. Names of Muslims who died for India are avoided. A great martyr who died for India like Tippu Sultan is unknown to youngsters, whereas the name of Tantia Tope, who fought not for India but for his pension, and Jhansi Laxmi Bai, who fought for her adopted son's heirship to the throne, is brought on the lips of every Indian. No Muslim gets awards for his contribution to science, medicine, music, art or gallantry. Even those who fought from the ranks of the ruling Congress Party like Moulana Azad, Kidwai, Syed Mahmood, Humayun Kabir etc. do not have a road or extension named after them. But there are half-a-dozen in the names of each upper caste leaders in our towns and cities. History is being re-written. ("Falsifying Indian History", DV editorial, April 16, 1985). Muslims are killed daily and their houses and shops burnt. The doors of the Army, police and administration are closed to them. And yet Muslim organizations to protect Islam are coming up like mushrooms. Everybody wants to protect Islam and nobody wants to protect Muslims. We are really worried.

    A study of the Ruling Class policies reveals that it has great similarity with the one followed by Ferdinand and Isabelle in Spain. The only difference is that the Hindu upper castes are more sharp and sophisticated because of the limitations imposed in the 20th century by the checks exercisable by the United Nations Human Rights Charter and international public opinion.

    The systematic and daily anti-Muslim riots resulting in loss of life and property, and above all the sense of fear in the hearts of every Muslim, elimination of the martial Muslims from the Defence, paramilitary and police forces and brahminising of these forces, closing the doors of appointments in Govt. services and public undertakings, Brahminisation of education and mass.media like radio, TV and advertisement, elimination of Urdu as official language from those areas which form the present day States of Punjab, Haryana, UP, Bihar, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Andhra Pradhesh and Karnataka overnight in 1947-48, gradual closing of Urdu schools are all examples of positive anti-Muslim policies.



    On the brahminical psychological warfare side comes the cries of Personal Law amendment, now diluted as common civil code, greatness of the Indian (Hindu) culture, projection of notorious anti-Muslim personalities like "Mahatma" Gandhi, B. G. Tilak, Madan Mohan Malaviya, Veer Savarkar, Lala Laipat Rai as heroes of India to belittle the contribution of Muslims for the development and progress of the country, re-writing of Indian history, describing Muslim professions like beef-selling as a sin and glorifying cow protection policies, introduction of mechanical slaughter of animals to throw out of job butchers, declaration of import and export business carried on by Muslims as smuggling are policies through which vulnerable Indian masses are misguided, resulting in a psychological anti-Muslim bias. Muslim electoral constituencies are divided horizontally and vertically so that they don't have an effective voting power anywhere and thrusting upon them ultra-secular Muslim leaders who have started worshipping Hindu idols and such scenes being systematically televised. Unfortunately Muslim leaders, who are dejected with the Govt., repose much confidence in Hindu masses and hope to secure their help ignoring the fact that the poor Hindu (Dalit) masses are as much victims of such a propaganda. And as on this day only seeds are being sown. The harvest is yet to come. When the harvest reason comes, what will be harvested in India is repetition of Spain, unless the Muslims resort to counter measures soon.

    It is high time the Muslim/ intelligentsia rises to the occasion to undo the repetition of the history of Spain in India. Islam has always been protected by the Muslim masses and not by the classes. Rich Muslims, who are not even 5% of the Muslim population (with minor exceptions) are joining the upper caste exploiters. They may talk of Islam but they have forgotten the fellow Muslims. Please note: religion does not protect its followers, but followers protect the religion. Remember if Islam has to be saved in India, Muslims have to be saved.

India At The Cross-Roads

One hundred and fifty million strong Indian Muslim community is the largest Muslim minority in the world. A history of around one thousand years of coexistence with non-Muslims and interaction with Indian cultures have given Indo-Islamic civilization its own distinctive texture, which can be seen in its arts, touched in its crafts and architecture, tasted in its food, heard in its music, read in its literature and poetry and felt in its general ethos. The socio-cultural contribution of Muslims in India far outweighs their numbers and adds richness to the multi-cultural dimensions of India's social life.

The independence of the country in the wake of partition created a very difficult situation for Indian Muslims. Separated by its majority areas which constituted a separate Islamic state, Pakistan, the community's resources were further depleted by migration to Pakistan and then to the West. New opportunities in the Middle East opened avenues of financial well being but they also deprived Indian Muslims their best talents. More serious and threatening challenge to the healthy growth of the community comes from the growing discrimination and increasing violence against their social existence. Each passing day poses new challenges and offers new threats.

The rise of Hindu Chauvinism led by Bharatiya Janata Party and promoted by Vishva Hindu Parishad and systematic organized hatred of fascist organizations such as Rashtriya Sevak Sangh, Shiv Sena, Bajrang Dal now not only threaten the safety of Muslims but challenge the democratic and secular fabric that has been the bulwark of Indian independence and a hallmark of its futuristic vision. Few seems to be moved by the word 'threat to secularism' these days. Even lesser seems to care about it.

There is an even more serious challenge that Indian Muslims have faced and continue to face, one that comes from within the community and not from outside of it. The challenge is the Indian Muslims' lack of concern for an objective understanding of their own situation, absence of a long term strategy for future and indecisiveness in making a concentrated effort for attaining these goals. This challenge more than any other factor threatens the existence of the Muslim community and mars its progress.

Education: A silent Muslim revolution

The India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC) in New Delhi is nestled in the neighbourhood of more high-brow institutions of intellectual activity such as the India International Centre (IIC) and the India Habitat Centre (IHC). However, some of the more seemingly mundane events it organises are, potentially, far more beneficial to India's inclusive development than a seminar at IIC or a talk at IHC. Under the able leadership of its amiable president, Sirajuddin Qureshi, IICC is quietly promoting awareness about the need for Indian Muslims' all-round development, while simultaneously weaving stronger bonds of national integration by proactively engaging with non-Muslim personalities who believe in the same cause.



Last week, I was surprised to get an invitation from my journalist-friend Wadood Sajid to be a guest speaker at a personality development course that he has helped IICC organise. What awaited me was a surprise, as revealing as it was pleasant. For the past five years, IICC (it scores high marks for its aesthetics and facilities) has been hosting this 40-day free-of-charge annual event that trains over 400 bright and aspiring students and young professionals in English-speaking, communication skills, competencies in team-building and leadership development, and so on. Most of them are Muslims. Many are from very poor backgrounds, and some from well-known religious seminaries. One-third of the packed hall was occupied by women, dressed both traditionally and non-traditionally. And the quality of presentations made by both male and female participants was outstanding, a pointer both to their own innate talent and also to the abilities of Munawar Zama, a young Hyderabad-based leadership trainer who conducts the course.


What appealed to me the most was that the course stressed not only on the superficial aspects of personality development but also on its ethical core. For example, on the day I was invited, the participants were given two topics to speak on ? 'Why, and how, not to tell a lie' and 'Why we should respect our parents.'

In my talk, I tried to explain how great personalities in all traditions had convergent views on the importance of education, understood as lifelong learning. Prophet Mohammed urged his followers to "go in quest of knowledge even if you have to go as far as China". The same thought is echoed in Mahatma Gandhi's exhortation: "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." Referring to the moral as well as modernising focus of IICC's personality development course, I said it would make Swami Vivekananda happy. For hadn't Swamiji said that true education is one that promotes "man-making and nation-building"? I urged the participants to participate in the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swamiji, who championed numerous noble ideals, including Hindu-Muslim unity.



What I observed at the IICC programme has reinforced my belief that a silent revolution is taking place in the Indian Muslim community, as far as education is concerned. This, clearly, is a phenomenon that gathered momentum after the mandir-masjid dispute in Ayodhya made the community self-introspective. The thoughts, concerns and aspirations of the new generation of Muslims are pushing it away from the margins and into the mainstream of national life.


I'll never forget an interaction I had in the mid-1980s with a Muslim family in Mumbai's Mohammed Ali Road area, a highly congested Muslim enclave. A young male member of the family had been selected to join the Indian Navy. But several members of the community dissuaded him from doing so. Why? "Muslims should not serve in the military of a non-Muslim nation."! Not surprising, since quite a few people in the area were staunch supporters of the Pakistan movement before 1947. Now, in the same neighbourhood, I've seen seeds of new thinking sprout. Schezan and Munaif, the two prodigiously talented sons of my good friends Iqbal and Ayesha, are both exemplars of inclusive India. Schezan, who graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune, is now proudly serving in the Indian Army. His younger brother Munaif has secured admission in the prestigious Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune.


Last week, I received a message from my dear friend Atik Muzaffarpuri, a Delhi-based Urdu journalist. His happiness knew no bounds because his son Mohammed Adil has scored top marks in an all-India entrance exam to secure admission in a coveted medical college to pursue MBBS. I have seen the extremely adverse living environments in which Schezan, Munaif and Adil grew up—and yet succeeded. This year, the highest number of Muslim students, many from very ordinary backgrounds, cracked the IIT entrance exam.




Due to space constraints, I can only make a brief mention here of the godly work that my other dear friend, Urdu writer Feroze Ashraf, and his wife Arifa, have been doing to spread education among girls belonging to the poorest of the poor Muslim families in Mumbai's slums. How the couple's incredibly devoted efforts have brought the light of hope in hundreds of gloomy lives is a story at once moving and inspiring.







Indian Muslims have begun to beat the odds because they have realised the importance of education more than ever before. So far, they've been helped mostly by their own efforts. With understanding and support from the larger society, with effective implementation of the governments' schemes and policies, and with the removal of internal obstacles in the community, this revolution will surely gain momentum. Apart from transforming Muslim lives, this can impart tremendous new energy to India's development.

Half of Muslim population does not have access to doctors in UP: survey

Only 48.2 per cent of Muslim women have access to doctors for antenatal care, while the percentage of women having access to Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)and support of anganwadi workers for fulfilling their nutritional requirements is 21.3 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively. These are the findings of National Family Health Survey III.

According to the survey, only 21 per cent of Muslim couples in UP and Uttarakhand are using contraceptives and only 32 per cent of them are aware about modern contraceptive methods.



Although the United Nations recognises India as one of the key countries for achieving its Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), Muslims in India are still a forgotten lot.

According to New Delhi-based Tehreek-E-Pasmanda Muslim Samaj and National Conference of Dalit Organisations Muslims continue to live as a marginalised community in U, despite the findings of the Sachchar Committee,. The organisations presented their report on “MDGs and Muslims in India” on Saturday and will organise a conference on the issue today.

Speaking on the report, president of Tehreek-E-Pasmanda Muslims Sardar Anwar said the Sachchar Committee report had assessed the real conditions of Muslims in India, but it could not attract any major policy interventions on the matter.

Development of World Class Thinking

If you got out of bed this morning and went to work because you wanted to, you are in control of money.
If you got out of bed this morning because you had to, money is in control of you. Even in the wealthiest
nation in the world, 99% of the population is being controlled by money. The effect is lack of money. The
cause is thinking. Albert Einstein once said, “a problem cannot be solved at the level of consciousness in which it occurs.” Knowing this, champions raise their level of consciousness by studying how the world class creates wealth. The middle class believes formal education is the answer to acquiring wealth, yet very few academics are wealthy. They seek advanced degrees and certications and are confounded when these things don’t bring them riches. While the great ones are strong advocates of higher education, they
don’t believe it has much to do with acquiring money. The middle class trades time for money.


The world class trades ideas that solve problems for money. Money ows like water from ideas. The middle class often scorns the world class out of frustration over a lack of money, yet the answer to earning more than they can spend has been in their lap their whole lives. Ideas -- it’s such a simple concept that the majority misses it. The poverty class talks about and regurgitates the past; the middle class talks about other people; and the world class talks about ideas. Professional performers know money doesn’t care which
direction it  ws. They know the world will bend over backward to make them rich if it will help them solve their problems. About 150 years ago, Karl Marx was sure the working class, as a whole, would rise up and overcome oppression if they had a chance. What Marx didn’t gure into the equation was the poverty-driven thought process of the people. Give people operating at middle-class consciousness a million-dollar opportunity, and they will nd a way to make it back to the middle class. It is where their limited self-image tells them they belong. The difference has nothing to do with reality. It’s all perception in the mind of
the performer.

Sustainable Development in a Muslim Context

Sustainable development may be defined, from an Islamic perspective, as a multi-dimensional process that seeks to strike a balance between economic and social development on one side, and the environment on the other. It seeks for humans to use resources in the best possible way, accounting for the environment upon which those resources rely.



Why has the Muslim world failed to develop ?

The Muslim world with its vast resources continues to generate much interest among economists, thinkers and policy makers.

The Muslim world since the end of the Uthmani Khilafah has had its borders drawn and redrawn after various powers interfered in the running of its affairs.

 The Muslim world includes the Arabian Peninsula, Turkey, North Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the south eastern countries of Malaysia and Indonesia.

Development economics is a branch of economics, which deals with how simple forms of organisation can transfer to complex forms of organisation and production. Development is seen as the ability to increase production without any consideration applied to its distribution. Economists do make a distinction between growth and development - growth is seen as more of the same goods and services whilst development is the structural and technological infrastructure behind the production.


In terms of GDP, the measurement used to calculate the value of total production of goods and services, the Muslim world is second only to China with growth rates of 7% in some countries. These are growth rates most European countries would be proud of. However reading between the figures reveals many problems.
If we define development as the building of the necessary infrastructure to fulfil the basic needs of the people such as food, clothing, shelter, security and education, here the Muslim worlds comes in at the bottom of the list. Wealth in the Muslim world suffers from huge misdistribution.

The Middle East for example relies heavily upon oil revenue's therefore it is affected greatly by changes in oil prices. Very little oil revenue actually trickles down to the population but rather ends up in US bank accounts. Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Alsaud of the Saudi monarchy is valued at over $20 billion with half of his wealth invested in the US.
In the Arab world one in five Arabs still live on less than $2 a day. And, over the past 20 years, growth in income per head, at an annual rate of 0.5%, was lower than anywhere else in the world except sub-Saharan Africa.
In Pakistan 40% of land is in the hands of 23 families.
Government investment in infrastructure and public services is minimal considering the large population of the Muslim world.
The Muslim world's elections are at best a farce, with autocratic kings and presidents only rescinding their authority when they die.
Half of the Muslim world is treated as lesser legal and economic beings, and more than half the young, burdened by joblessness and un-Islamic economic policies want to get out of their country as soon as they can.
The role of the IMF and World Bank in countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Egypt has directly aided some of the underlying economic problems. The general solution provided by such institutions is the engaging of trade to climb out of poverty and for development. In reality there are a number of obstacles placed by the developed nations that ensure developing nations will never reach a level where they can compete. What this actually means is that Western goods should be imported rather than allow imports from poorer countries. The theory is that only via trade will nations pull themselves out of poverty. Whilst encouraging the third world to lower their market barriers such as tariffs and quotas on various goods, the Western nations do not do the same for their markets. Western economies have not been developed by such subscribed policy, as outlined by Dr Ha Joon Chang in his book "Kicking away the ladder." The continued failure of the World trade organisation clearly shows the unwillingness by Europe and the US to lower its trade barriers whilst at the same time lobbying India and China to remove their barriers.
This situation in the Muslim world stems from the colonial era and is summed up best by David Fromkin, Professor and expert on Economic History at the University of Chicago: "Massive amounts of the wealth of the old Ottoman Empire were now claimed by the victors. But one must remember that the Islamic empire had tried for centuries to conquer Christian Europe and the power brokers deciding the fate of those defeated people were naturally determined that these countries should never be able to organize and threaten Western interests again. With centuries of mercantilist experience, Britain and France created small, unstable states whose rulers needed their support to stay in power. The development and trade of these states were controlled and they were meant never again to be a threat to the West. These external powers then made contracts with their puppets to buy Arab resources cheaply, making the feudal elite enormously wealthy while leaving most citizens in poverty."
The absence of any organised way of generating wealth and allocating wealth has created a situation where everyone in the Muslim world needs to fend for themselves and attempt to make the best out of a chaotic situation. This just compounds the problem further as many resort to bribery, stealing and fraud to make ends meet. This shows that the people in the Muslim world are not inherently corrupt or born to steal, rather as can be seen with the Gulf States many Muslims when given the opportunities are hard working and can be relied upon.
The question that really needs to be answered is where we begin to develop the Muslim world. The Muslim world fails in applying a set of consistent polices and this has resulted in such nations being unable to unify the populace on the direction of the economy. Many policies by the rulers are time specific or usually motivated by the political climate of the time. The unfortunate result of this is that a whole host of contradictory policies are applied within the Muslim world and hence the nation doesn't move in the same direction. Although Pakistan has the worlds largest untapped coal reserves it imports over 2 million tonnes of coal a year to meet its energy needs. Across the Muslim world there exist manufacturing companies and mining companies. However the contract to mine the Muslims world's precious resources always go to foreign companies.
The development of the Soviet Union is a good example of how consistent polices lead to development. Socialism emerged as a very powerful force across Europe and many were attracted to it after witnessing the wide disparities in wealth distribution in Capitalist nations. The Communists after gaining power due to the failures of the Tzar set about implementing a five year plan starting in 1928, in order to build a heavy industrial base.
The five year plan was a list of economic goals that was designed to strengthen the USSR's economy between 1928 and 1932, making the nation both militarily and industrially self-sufficient. The five year plan was to harness all economic activity to the systematic development of heavy industry, thereby transforming the Soviet Union from a primitive agrarian country into a leading industrial and military power. Carrying the plan out, the Stalin government poured resources into the production of coal, iron, steel, railway equipment, and machine tools. Whole new cities, such as Magnitogorsk in the Urals, were built with enthusiastic participation of young workers and intellectuals. This ambitious plan fostered a sense of mission and helped mobilise support for the regime. The Soviet Union played a direct role in the defeat of Hitler in World War 2 - which launched the Soviet Union to superpower status.
Islam is the only common denominator between everyone in the Muslim world. Islam has a glorious history in the region and propelled the Muslims from the deserts of Arabia to the far reaches of the earth. Therefore this would be the place to begin deriving economic policies for the Muslim world. These policies would be accepted by all Muslims as they are from Islam and would actually bring confidence in the Islamic rules once people see they can work.
Practically this means that Islam should be applied in the Muslim world and Islam's polices on trade, ownership, companies, public finance, investment, currency and poverty elimination would need to all be applied. The derivation of such polices from the same foundations would ensure no contradictions occur as they are all coming from the same basis. All foreign policies from Socialism, the Capitalist free markets, Nasserism, Kemalism and any other ‘ism' should be removed as these have proven to be failures.
